D - Open European Amateurs Championship with
ELO FIDE < 2000 with rating for FIDE 19.-27.7. 2008
Right of participation:
- players with ELO FIDE < 2000
- players without ELO FIDE or with ELO national > 1600
European Amateurs Championship: European champions (man and woman) in
category ELO FIDE < 2000 will become the best placed players (man and woman) who
are members of chess federation belonging to ECU and whose ELO FIDE is smaller
than 2000 (it does not depend on their ELO national, efficiency class or
possible international title)
System of tournament: Swiss system of 9 rounds
Criteria used for ranking:
1. number of points
2. Buchholz
3. middle Buchholz
4. average ELO of rivals
5. lot
prizes are distributed according to Hort system (among 12 top players)
Rating of tournament: 40 moves per 2 hours, further 1 hour for each player to finish the game
Tournament prize fund (financial prizes in CZK, payment in EUR or USD possible):

Special material prizes:
3 best women players, 3 best seniors (born in 1948 and older) and 3 best young players (born in
1994 and younger)
Fusion of special and other prizes is admissible
Notice: prizes are awarded only during solemn presentation of results
Starting fee is given in EUR (payments in CZK and USD possible):
ECU member federations have the right to nominate 1 player and 1 woman player with corresponding ELO without paying starting fee till 15.6. 2008.

Discounts: young players up to 18 years of age, seniors over 65 years of age and women players have 25% discount, these discounts do not refer to additional charge for late registration and are not added up
Exceptions: The organizer reserves the right to set a player whose ELO does not meet requirements of that tournament on his own request. The starting fee will be in this case

Late registrations: Those players whose application will be registered after
15.6. 2008 will pay additional charge of 8,5 EUR.
